The Last of Christmas Rednesday
I went to visit Sue at It's A Very Cherry World and I saw she is having some of the same thoughts I am about this Christmas. It was my first blogging Christmas also, and I have had the BEST time! I want to thank everyone for making this so much fun! I have in years past had a lot of sadness at the holidays, but this year I was blessed with new friends that made it so special! Thank you so very much!
So here is the last of my Christmas Rednesday: Enjoy!

What Did you Get for Christmas?
I went to see Carol at Old Glory Cottage and she had a post about what she had gotten for Christmas, so I thought I would follow her!
I received this wonderful book from my friend Linnie, it is the American Girls Doll series. Molly who is from the 1940's era cookbook. It is so fun to look at...and the recipes are great! I have looked thru this book three times now and enjoy it so much!
This is a little hard to see, but I don't want to take it out of the package yet! LOL It is a re purposed box, that has vintage trimmings and a sweet vintage Santa, along with a really cute little red whisk!
My sister in law and brother got me this great little book:
I have always liked this saying....but the thoughts inside are even better! I like this one a lot! Need it to be my New Years Resolution!
Jo also made me this fun eclectic Christmas tree for my new Craft Room, the colors are so fun! This was her first attempt at this and I think she did a great job! Don't you just love Hobby Lobby? :) Please don't look at the mess....my kitchen is in the process of exploding! LOL
My two sons Bryan and Chris bought me this great new sewing machine ....so I am going to have to learn to sew this year! (EEEK!) Another 2010 Resolution! I can do this! LOL
I then opened this great little game....problem is I don't have a Nintendo DS....and when I said this, my eldest son Bryan, shouted "Oh shoot Dad, I forgot to wrap it for you last night! " LOL

My two sons, Chris ( being Chris LOL ) and Bryan. They spent Christmas Eve at our home, just like when they were little....it was wonderful! Waking up Christmas morning with my boys under the same roof!
Christmas was all about family this year, and trying to stay sane during the process. I think I did better this year than in past ones. I am looking forward to a very Good 2010!
So what treasures did you get this year?????
OH...almost forgot "Santa" bought me this on Ebay too....it hasn't shown up yet! It will be in my kitchen or craft room. Can't decide until I see it! :)

Maya on Christmas Day
Hi, My name is Maya. My mom decided it was about time you met me. Unfortunately, it had to be like this:
Now don't get me wrong, I love my Mom, but is this the most ridiculous thing you have ever seen????
After the first shot, I refused to look at her.....I didn't try to take this stupid thing off of my head, I just refused to look at her....
It didn't seem to help much....she just kept clicking away......

Please Take a Moment
I know that for me, as we get closer to Christmas I feel more and more rushed, but I thought I would ask you all to take a moment, have a cup of hot cocoa and a cookie with me and relax.....just take a small break. Yes, take that chair, it is very comfortable..... :)
When I started this blog, I had no real idea where it would lead me. It just sounded like fun. This has been a real experience for me, and so I want to thank each and every new friend, follower and drop in a Very Merry Christmas and a huge Thank you for making this blogging so enjoyable! I have met some incredible people, found wonderful crafts, recipes, and ideas like I never thought I would! The last three months have been such a good time!
I am hoping that 2010 will hold everything you need for a productive and prosperous year. I am looking forward to spending more time with all of you! So, take care and once more....thanks for stopping by!

A Very Special Christmas Gift- Meet Angus!
I would like you to meet my newest pet! This is Angus. I think he is the cutest little black Scottie around!
My good friend Meri was kind enough to make this wonderful little guy for me for Christmas. I saw Angus in a cute image and mentioned to her that he would be a cute one to sculpt. Little did I know he was going to be mine! Meri has a wonderful blog and a GREAT giveaway right now so please check it out. Some lucky follower will also receive a one of a kind piece of art also! Meri takes her images from vintage pieces of children's artwork. Here is her link: http://imagimeris.blogspot.com/ So hurry over and check it out!
Meri is actually the younger sister of my best friend Lin. We have known each other for over 39 years. A few months back I decided to take one of Meri's classes with Lin and it was so much fun! Little by little we realized that we had a lot in common with the things we were drawn to in the craft world. I am pleased that we now have a friendship of our own growing .
His little hat is so perfect for him! And of course his sweet red bow.
The rest of these photos were done with my flash on so you can see his light grey tips of his hair.

Serena's Cookie Exchange
I wanted to participate in Serena's Cookie Exchange over at The Farm Chick's Blog, so this is the recipe I am using!
My boys favorite Christmas cookie is Spritz, and the recipe I use previously never made enough and wasn't sweet enough. So I went online and this is the recipe I found: You will need a Spritz maker ( sometimes called a cookie press) for this recipe, or you can just roll it into little balls and flatten with a glass.
SPRITZ
You use:
6 egg yolks
1 lb butter ( 4 sticks)
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1- 1 1/2 t. vanilla ( or a mixture of vanilla and almond)
1/4 t. salt
Cream this altogether and add 5 cups of flour. I put the dough in the fridge between batches so when I put it in the cookie press it comes out really well. They said to bake at 350 degrees for abt. 10 minutes. I prefer 400 degrees for 8 minutes, either way they work!
You get a lot of cookies, I think I had about 8 dozen....thought I would never get done!
I use a little corn syrup and a brush to add the decorations after they are cooked. That way I don't get a lot of burnt sugar on my cookie trays.
This is just a portion of the cookies you get with this recipe.
This is what they look like all done....can you tell my family likes sugars and nonpareils? LOL

Rednesday already? Wow!
I can't believe it is time for Rednesday already! Where did this week go????? I want it to slow down, I am having so much fun this Christmas season!
I am going to show you a wonderful vintage towel I won on Ebay this year.....I saw this and had to have it! In all my years of buying on Ebay I have never seen anything like this! I am going to find the perfect frame and have it blocked and put in the frame like a piece of needlework. It is in perfect condition, don't know if it was ever used.....
The little ladies heads on the picks coming out of the jello mold are so cute! I have a thing for jello and molds so it was just calling my name!
These cherries are just perfect!
This is going to be in my kitchen, the colors work with my Fiesta ware so well....oh and by the way...there will be no discussing the price! Honey, if you read this post....it was a REAL bargain! :)
