These kinds of items are so rare and these were well priced I couldn’t say No, even though I shouldn't have! But I had sold some of my CD’s so I had a few dollars of mad money….

Swing_Girl

Today I am going to share some items I actually bought from Sue from her Etsy shop…one of my new loves is syrup glass decanter thanks to the Farm Girls Christmas book! I was luck to get 4 out of the 5 here from Sue!

IMG_2720

At the holidays they are going to be decked out in ribbons and candy! :)

I also was lucky to find this red one!

IMG_2721 So cute and love the flowers!

This one was a tad dirty and the spring had come loos and well as the yellow one above, I have gotten pretty good at fixing these…it looks easy but boy do you have to have small hands! LOL

I know you have seen these two things before, but I just took them out of the box and found the measuring spoons just a bit ago at Pier One…..truly one of my favorites now!!!!

cherry measuring cups still have the plastic sleeves on them. :)

I got this set off of EBay years ago, it was a yellow rack and the jars were all messed up, I redid the decals ( bought them on EBay too, now I know how to do them) and of course painted the rack red, I see it needs it again! :)

And last, one of the wonderful Punch Studio “book” boxes. I got this at Home Goods when I got my tea set.

Sweet clothespin holder dress

I am joining everyone at It’s A Very Cherry World with Sue for Rednesday! Oops, Sue doesn't have it up yet! :):) I still want to show you this really cute item.....

I came home today and found this sweet little handmade clothespin bag in the mail….it is even cuter that I thought it would be! I have seen this pattern and thought how fun it would be...and someone made it for me! :)

IMG_2065 I bought it from a seller on Etsy named “VintageEncore”. She had a few of these for sale….but this one was calling me! It has a canvas bag ( to hold the clothespins) attached to the front “dress”, and some of the fabrics are indeed vintage…..

IMG_2068 See those sweet little cherry buttons…how perfect! And there is feed sack cloth on the sleeves and the band in the middle. And the red/white is a tablecloth….

IMG_2067

And this fun little red trimmed “skirt” is a fabric with aprons. I just love it! I am putting beadboard and a white long shelf in my laundry room, it has no windows and needs to be brighter, I am going to paint the room yellow and white and hang this little cutie from a ped on the shelf!

Thanks for stopping by…..:)

Is this not the cutest graphic you have ever seen???? Sue outdid her self this week!

Today I am sharing some ads for vintage Fiesta dishes. I found them on a blog called The Pottery Papers which is owned by Candy of The Little Round Table. I asked if I could share these with you and she said OK! Now I warn you, these prices are going to make all of us wish for the Good Ole Days!

Aunt Jemima and Me

As a little girl growing up in Parma, Ohio I have some very vivid memories of places my folks would take me and my brother out to eat.

One of them was a pancake house and at the door there was a lively woman dressed as Aunt Jemima. I always thought she looked like she would give good hugs!’ I was pretty little and she seemed really big. :)

AuntJemima

I thought it was called Aunt Jemima’s, but I don’t think so…..maybe Uncle John’s????? I have no idea….

When my Mom passed she had a set of cute salt and pepper shakers that were Aunt Jemima and Uncle Mose. I often wondered where she got them! And then looking thru a wonderful book on kitchen collectibles that I have, I saw this ad from 1951…

AJ Pancakes 1

I have always been a huge fan of food company premiums. They are the different items you can save labels, boxtops, etc , add less than a dollar in most cases and you get a fun premium! They were very popular in the 40’s, 50’s 60’s and then again in the 80’s.

So this is where my S&P shakers came from! According to this same book, this is what they can be worth:

AJ Pancakes 2

Yes, that’s right $55-$75.00!!!! Now I don’t think that is accurate, but I am pretty sure mine are in good shape…very little paint loss, and never used that I remember.

And who wouldn’t just LOVE a set of those birthday candle holders!

Here is my set….

AJ4

AJ5 BACKS

As you can see, they look pretty good! It states on the back of them, Aunt Jemima and Uncle Mose. I wonder if that is suppose to be Moses??? If I have a “mistake” set they could be worth thousands!!!! NOT! I have never used these, and don’t plan to…somehow it seems wrong that a condiment should come out the top of a person’s head! LOL

Do you have some favorite premiums that you have collected over the years? Maybe that would be a good weekly group to start up.! :):)

The name of the book I own is Spiffy Kitchen Collectibles by Brian A. Alexander. I am not sure it is still for sale, but I am sure Amazon would be the place to start looking, or Ebay! :)
