A few thoughts…

 

This has been a strange few months in Blogland.  Have you noticed how few posts there have been compared to last year?  I think this crazy weather, and just life in general has been a bit tough for a lot of us this year. We need to start thinking about the holidays….YEAH!

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the passing of our family’s dear friend Scott…”friend” sounds so wrong, he was a brother to my husband, an uncle to my kids and a loving gift from God for me.  I think of him daily and laugh a lot now….it feels better than the tears.  This is still one of my favorite photos of him and his grandson Anthony….

And this one just cracks me up!!!!  He would do anything for his grandkids!

I am so looking forward to the holidays starting, aren’t you?????  I think we need a swap….how about we get some ideas going….just leave a comment and let’s see where it goes…..I sure miss Elizabeth’s ideas…..:):) 

Update on my pup:

Maya went to the vet last Friday, the surgical knee is totally healed and nice and tight with scar tissue, but no muscle tone at all so she doesn’t use it like she should.  As soon as it cools off, we start some rehab walking.  The right knee is a bit loose but not terrible, but her right hip is becoming very arthritic…totally expected with all of the extra use of that leg….so she is on Glucosamine and Tramadol for any pain….she comes to me and lets me know when it hurts too bad….I feel so blessed to still have her!

OK….let’s get busy and see about ideas for a fun swap…Deb Hogan had the best idea for the last one with the “spoolies”….have a wonderful week!  Pinterest is a great place for ideas….:):) Look at this adorable scrapbook paper set and goodies that is coming out soon….

Family Ties

 

Most of you know that I am a paper crafter, but since 2007 I have been buying and organizing digital scrapbooking materials.  I like the full kits best.  When I saw this one I was over the moon…

Retro to the max and so many pieces!!!!  ( Sadly it is no longer available to purchase)  It is what I built my blog with.  The other day I was browsing online and I saw this…

Yup!!!!  Same stuff in paper…I was so excited, I got the 12x12, 8x8 and 6x6 pads.  No other articles have been made but the papers.  But I was slightly disappointed when I finally got to see them…

 

Not near as bright and colorful as the digital kit, but still very vintage….

As you can see way more muted tones….these are the actual colors…and some have embossing or glittery stuff…but they are still very cute!

I also snagged these little tiny card vintage card game sets this last week…

See how little the boxes are compared to the dime????  And they are both of these vintage sets…just minis!  GREAT for paper crating…$6.00 :)

I am going to start a small market here on my blog like Erica does from Golden Egg Vintage on Mondays, mine will be on Tuesdays…so stay tuned..:)  I have a few cute, cute things I am going to part with! :)

Hi everybody….it has been a quick week with Wayne home, he is going back on Tuesday morning to finish his training and then hopefully will be home by the first part of August.  Then until his store is completed he will be driving to Globe, Arizona every day…good thing we live way over in the east valley.

I am starting an older OA project from http://www.scrapscription.com/pkits.htm, this is a great place, and you can just buy the instructions if you already have the items, which I do….

 

But I am missing one of the items I need….it called for “Paula Deen Kitchen Recipe Cards”, I think Michaels sold them…these are the ones I need…

 

They have a red fork and spoon on them, I only need three…so if anybody is willing to part with them I sure would appreciate it and I would be happy to pay for three or a whole pack…:)

I know I looked on Ebay, Amazon and Etsy, no luck….and I know Michaels won’t have them now….if I can’t find them, I can make ones similar, but this would just be easier….thanks!
