Today is my Birthday

Yup…today I am older, I turned 59 today.

Sandy McClay Dec 2012

                         Photo Taken December 2012

This is a bittersweet day for me…my Mom was 59 when she passed away.  I think of my family and how it would be if  all of a sudden I just wasn’t there anymore, and it is devastating to think about  it, and to feel it every year….I miss my folks more, not less, as time goes on….wondering about all of the great memories we still had to make, the  second grandson they never met…they were the BEST grandparents to Bryan if only for a year.  I wonder what they would think of the person I have become, I hope they would be happy with her.

This is a photo of Mom and Dad just shortly before they were both gone…my Dad died 14 months after my Mom…he was just 60.

I wish I could say that today feels good…..it doesn’t…..and that is just how it is….tomorrow will be a better day. :) Thanks for letting me be honest, it means a lot…

Happy Birthday Sandy! Your parents look like they were a very happy couple :) and I certainly think they would be happy about who you became. You are beautiful :) Thank you for stopping by....I can feel your pain...my father and of course Ashley were also to young to die...God must have needed them for something bigger..it is too big for us to understand now, but we are blessed to have good memories and to have had them. I have to try to think positive, that is how I get through everyday.

Happy Birthday Sandy! I love sseeing your pretty face and CUTE haircut, too! My gf at work turned 60 this year. She bought some boots and a short skirt! I haven't worn either since H.S., but ya know - maybe it's not a bad idea!!! My heart goes out to you sweet friend - I can hear your sorrow. You are so loved and appreciated, and I imagine you learned a lot about how to be who you are from your parents. You are such a blessing to me - to ALL of us!

Happy Birthday Sandy,
It is a bittersweet day for you.
Your parents made a sweet couple and in the picture they look the picture of health.
I'm sorry for the passing of your parents and what you have missed with them but you will have a great reunion one day...that is what keeps me going.
C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E THE DAY, as this day, today, will not come again.

♫♫Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you♫♫

My mom just passed away on Christmas Eve, and I arranged for her Celebration of Life to be on My birthday in early January. For me that was the perfect circle of life--I am the oldest of the siblings and all of us were with her in the final days. I first said hello and also "so long, see you later" on that day.

Happy birthday dear Sandy.

I understand the bittersweet. there are soooo many things I wish I could ask my mom now but can't. ♥

Sandy your parents died so young! that breaks my heart. they look like the good folks from the good old days we both really miss. As I get older I wish to go back in time and be with my mom and dad that took such good care of me and my very simple and wonderful childhood. I think we have that in common. I know just how you feel. I'm going to be 56 this year. My mom taught me everything I know. My dad was a city cop. I so much wish I could talk to them.

Oh. Happy Birthday. we have to be grateful we are having them, I suppose.

I hope you had a lovely birthday- regardless of the heaviness in your heart.
