Just Lovely…

I recently found a wonderful blogger by the name of Heather, she has the blog Vintage Grey. Heather does incredible work with vintage tablecloths and quilting. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase one of her items…it was wrapped so nice, I didn’t want to open it! :)

See what I mean? A lovely handmade kitchen towel…

From a vintage strawberry tablecloth and some of Heather’s lovely fabrics….look at the crocheted edge….

And I love how she “signs” her work…

Thank you Heather for this special towel, I think it is going to end up hanging on the wall like a mini quilt! :) Her is a link to her store…

Valentine Goodies Galore!

I wanted to share with you the wonderful items I have received from friends and my new buddy Hannah from the blog http://pyrexthriftersisters.blogspot.com !

First of all I got this wonderful box from Deb the Garage Sale Gal…we have become fast friend for sure! Just wish we didn’t live so far away from each other….

The box had all kinds of goodies…she always spoils me with lots of “bits and bobs”…

Thank you Deb, yours is going out Tuesday…:)

Then I got my wonderful personalized Valentine from Miss E!

Adore the girl on the bike…and look at all of those cute vintage cards…thank you E!

Then I got this box from Hannah…

Inside….

Yes, that is a vintage Pyrex bowl….just happen to have a top for it..:) And look at that adorable decorated candy heart box…two vintage cookbooks and a wonderful vintage dish towel, and an unopened box of RED birthday candle holders!

Another layer down and there was my favorite Dove milk chocolates and buttons…love buttons! And really pretty spring stickers.

Thank you Hannah, this was such a fun swap…..She has gotten her box, so I can show you the what I sent…

A Sears and Roebuck Home

There are a couple of bloggers that I follow that live in “kit” homes, Carol from Old Glory Cottage is one of them….I can’t even imagine how wonderful it must be to know your home is from the early 1900’s! I decided to see what I could find and there are MANY homes still around….

This home is in Maryland….it has been taken care of very well…

This is the Kenwood….

Amazing, isn’t it????

This is called the Alhambra…very large…

And this is a Alhambra also…brick instead of stucco.

Here is yet another one….

So sad it ended up like this….it reminds me of the magnificent lumbar baron homes in Eau Claire that are now frat houses for the university, it makes me sick!

Here is one down south that is just pristine…this is also a Sears and Roebuck plan.

These are just a few of the hundreds of plans Sears and other companies came out with…there isn’t too many I wouldn’t love to own now….

And some of the furnishings they would use inside…

Yes, that states $3.95!!!!

How many of us would love to have these pieces in our homes now??? $51.00, $49.00, unbelievable!

And of course you have to have a bathroom!

All of this for 37.00 and some change!

I still feel sad when I think I will never own one of these lovely old homes, it is the one thing in my life that I truly wish could have happened….I just adore the bungalows and the farmhouses…they are my favorites…
