Happy Birthday to Me!

Birthday invite png with writing_edited-1

That’s right ! It is my birthday and I am going to have a giveaway!!!!!

Leave a comment on this post and on Sunday at 7:00 MST and I will pick a winner!!!!

I love parties! Especially birthday ones…..

birthday-party

Do you remember when you were a child how special those days were? It was always cold, so my parties were always inside,

scan0006

Don’t remember this one…:):) Already the "lazy"eye is showing....

scan0004 I am in the high chair, the kid on the far right is my brother Brad, the rest were neighbors….love the wallpaper , this was our “larger” of the two eating areas in the house! LOL This probably was Brad’s birthday party, he was born a week to the day before me…just 6 years earlier…

scan0007

I am three years old here…don’t look too happy….:) I sure was cute though ! LOL

scan0005

Four years old here, the buggy was a pretty lawn green and I had it for years!!!!

scan0008

scan0009

1959 and I really am cross eyed….I had surgery for it shortly after this, this couch was a shiny, ugly brown….Yuk! The girl on the far left was a neighbor named Patty, I just found her on Facebook after all of these years just a few months ago. It was so fun to reminisce. The girl second from the right has already passed away, her name was Debbie and the little stinker to her right was her little sister Karen. What a brat! LOL

And here is the last of them…not sure if any were taken after this, my Mom had a lot of trouble with being ill when I was young and was on huge doses of Prednisone which caused some major depression….

scan0002

1960. This one was in the basement, see my “corner store in the background? I got that from Santa the Christmas before. My Mom started cutting my hair about this point, I am the silly one with the great haircut in the plaid dress. I remember that dress, it was red, white , and back….

So thank you for stopping by to help celebrate this “mature” woman’s {nice way of saying I am old } birthday! :):) Most of you that follow my blog all have photos like this, black and white and Kodak’s…. don’t you just love looking at them once in awhile????

So don’t forget, leave a comment and you can enjoy the celebration too!

Thanks for stoppin’ by!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Sandy!! It's so fun to see these old pics and what you looked like as a girl. I love your little plaid dress :-) And the drapes and furniture. I have to wonder if your birthday ever fell on Superbowl Sunday as mine has once or twice? Nothing worse than a football-shaped birthday cake. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Oh sweetie, what a wonderful party. Just look at all the goodies. The hats and horns, the balloons and the cake is delicious. I can taste it now. Yummy. Did Meri bake it for you? I know her cakes are always a pan of yummy.

I hope you had a precious day sweet one, and that you were kind to yourself, did something a little happy at least. You so deserve it.

I am hoping to get to see you gals again soon. I so want to come over. Soon I hope. You remain in my prayers sweet friend. Hope you had a glorious day. You were a beautiful child, and you are now such a beautiful woman. Many hugs and SO much love to you sweetie...Sherry

I love the photos Sandy, those old black and whites were great and the background details of them. I wonder why they made such ugly couches in the 50's ? I remember those!
I do hope you have a great birthday.

Happy Birthday and I really enjoyed your old photos. Yes, I enjoy looking at the ones I have too. Back in the 1940's and 50's (I was born in 1945) my mother had a photographer come to the house at Christmas and a few times on our birthdays (mine is Dec. 29th and my sister's is Dec. 23rd) and take pictures. She had them put into two albums so my sister and I would each get one. I love looking at those old black and whites and even though we gave our mom a bad time about having to get dressed up and pose for the pictures I'm glad I have them now.

Happy birthday! I love seeing the old photos too! I think my mom has a few birthday photos of my little brother's parties that look just like these! Now that I think of it, I don't think there are any birthday photos of me or my sisters, hmmm? Gonna have to ask my mom about that!

I LOVE that buggy that you said was green... I bet you wished you still had that little gem, huh?

Happiest of birthdays to you!

I, too, love looking back at the old b & w pics. Yours are adorable. I remember the styles and colors and wallpaper etc. I hope your birthday is one of the best ever!! You deserve a joyous occasion!

Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sandy!!! I love your photos. The one with the baby carriage was my favorite. My Dad used to cut my bangs that short!
I don't have very many photos from when I was young because most of them were made into slides. There's a couple of boxes of slides in my parent's basement, so they took plenty of pictures. They're just hard to look at. We got a Polaroid about the time I was 11 or 12 so there are photos from then.
Anywho, I hope you are having a wonderful, special day!

Happy Birthday Sandy! We have been looking at lots of pictures like this since we got to Kentucky. My BIL grew up in Illinois but the family is now in KY. All of the brothers have enjoyed reminiscing about their childhood in the 50s. (My husband is the baby so we grewup in the 60s/70s - whole different era). I hope your birthday finds you lookin' as cute as you do in your pictures!

Oh Sandy, did I really miss wishing you a happy birthday? Well I hope it was and here's to wishing you a late one....HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUGAR!!!! I love the pictures, especially the silly one with the haircut, probably because I remember Mama getting tired of telling me to brush my tangled hair and cutting it all off. And the one with the carriage is so special because I remember how much I loved my baby stroller!

Thank you for thinking and praying for us so much. She's doing very well and we're very grateful!
Have a wonderful birthday weekend.
Hugs and love, Tracy :)

Happy Birthday....to you and to me....my 72nd is the 7th. Hope you did better me I am doing. One of our 2 laptops blew up and I lost another tooth right smack dab in the front of my mouth. Little Eloise was so cute:”Baga, mail me the tooth and I will put it under my pillow. The Tooth Family knows where my house is, and she will think it is my tooth!"

Happy belated Birthday! Hope you had a great on. Love all your vintage photos and the couch in your living room is very cool looking. It looks like one my parents had. It was sort of a crushed velvet look and I always thought it was scratchy.

Hi Sandy :) I sure hope you had a wonderful Birthday. I really enjoyed seeing your photos. My birthday is on Tuesday and I may have to borrow your idea and post some "vintage" birthday photos of my own. Such fun memories. Thanks for sharing and Happy Birthday

A Big Happy Birthday To You Sandy! Yes, those are the kinds of photos from my childhood (born in '60) - love seeing yours. Birthday parties were so simple then and the kids didn't get spoiled with having the party at some establishment & getting tons of toys like today. Heck, we rarely had any birthday parties in our family & I only went to a very few.

Happy Belated Birthday. Your pictures made me laugh out loud. I have some that look eerily familiar, we even shared that fancy haircut!! I hope you have a wonderful Day! xxoo Valarie
