Update and Swap Goodies

Well, it is 10:30 Friday night and Maya hasn’t torn the sutures!  This has been one of the hardest weeks I have had in awhile, dropping her back off yesterday at 8:00 A.M. was terrible, but I got to bring her home at 1:00 PM.  The vet or his tech had to sit on the floor with her cage door open or she would try to stand up…lol  He called last night to check on her, wonderful vet, but an even better human being!  So, she is eating, drinking, going potty and wagging her tail.  That is all she is allowed to do other than laydown ! lol   I can’t thank you all enough for all of the good thoughts and prayers that helped us get here….:)

I wanted to show you the wonderful items I received from my swap partner Dorothy of HensRule

My wonderful box was filled to the brim, layer after layer of fun….my wonderful spoolie!

Things could be better.....

Maya had her knee surgery Monday morning and it was a great success, but they insisted on keeping her overnight and no matter what they gave her they couldn't knock her out as she was so anxious to be away from us, and she kept getting up and tore the 80 pound suture  Dr. Oliver used as a replacement for the ligament.

We brought her home Tuesday afternoon and when I got in the backseat with her she just collapsed into my lap. Dr. Oliver was so upset that this happened that he spoke to the office manager and they are going to redo the surgery tomorrow morning no charge and after a couple of hours we are taking her home....he is going to use 100 pound suture.... I sure hope this was the right decision, she is in a lot of pain....with a Fentanyl Patch and Tramadol, vetprofen and a mild tranquilizer ...please keep us in your prayers...

I hate change, don't you?  I just don't want to be bothered! lol

I dropped Maya off at 7:30 this morning ,they should be starting about 10:00 for her three hour surgery...please keep her and the vet and his staff  in your good thoughts and prayers today.:):)

PS....Maya came through the 3 hour surgery with flying colors, her anterior cruciate ligament was totally torn free! She will stay the night at the vet's on a morphine drip.....can't wait to pick her up and take care of her myself!  Thanks for all of the prayers and good wishes....they worked!

Well, believe it or not, an Easter bunny helper has been spotted at my door!  She is a quiet one, but boy does she leave fun stuff!

Then awhile back I bought this little guy, he was missing his basket….so I went looking for a new one and found it at the 99cent store….what do you think?  Do I need to glitter up Mr. Bunny, he seems kind of plain….

PicMonkey Collage3

That’s all for now…I have to go do something…not sure what but something….lol

Thanks for all of your encouraging,  loving words and thoughts, Maya is hanging in there….:)

And Cubby the bear was returned, so I am on the lookout once more…:)

We will do the best we can…..

I don’t know if I have ever done a post about my third child…she is a mixed breed rescue named Maya:

Miss Maya

Maya came to us as a six month old rescue pup in 2002 , full of P&V and a joy to have around, she never chewed anything up but toys, was already basically housebroken and just wanted to be with me….always.   She was easy to train and we went to doggie school and graduated with full honors.  The trainer felt she was part border collie so her need to be “ on guard” and keep me safe were inherent. I was told that is not a negative, but a great way to be….:)

IMG_1760

Maya February 2009

The dogs we had in the past were the kids….I just fed them…but Maya was mine from the minute we got her….what a joy to have someone love you that much!!!!

Maya

She has been limping on and off on her left hind leg, usually after Abbey was here or if she tried to jump up on our bed….we figured it was old age ( she will be 11 in April) and trying to keep up with a pup….well, we were wrong.  Bryan and Abbey came over Saturday and something happened and the she totally tore her ACL tendon in her back left leg….

IMG_3530

This is how she holds it now and when she walks she is doing so on three legs…..Maya never yelped, cried or whimpered…she is one stoic dog.

IMG_3531

So….we had three choices, a $3500.00 surgery used for young active dogs (no), a $1500.00 surgery used for dogs like Maya (yes) and euthanasia ( hell, no)…she will be in surgery for about three hours and then about three months of rehab she is on vetprophin for now and some Benadryl to keep her quiet, after the surgery she will be on MAJOR narcotics…., …..I feel so bad for her, but we just couldn’t give up yet….the fear now is the other hind leg will go, at that point there is only one choice and I do not want to go there….please put my sweet dog and us in your prayers, she needs all the help she can get….

Cubby the bear

I am a crazy  enthusiastic  shopper on Ebay and Etsy, but I have got to stop!  It is so hard for me to see all of the items from my childhood just sitting there!

I know a lot of people say you can’t go back, well I disagree…if that is where you want to be then go there!  Of course, being a genealogist helps that mantra! lol  But seriously, does it hurt to remember a time when things were good…really good….I don’t think so, just as long as you can be present when you need to be.

With that said, one Christmas, I must have been about 7, Santa brought me a little bear in my stocking one year when we were in Eau Claire, it peeked out at me and I was just beside myself!  You would wind him up and he would turn the metal pages of a small book he had, and when he was done “reading it” he would turn them back and start again….I never thought I would see him again…but guess what????

Here he is!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_3520

He doesn’t work correctly so he is be going back to the seller, he wasn’t cheap….although when he was originally made in the 1950’s   he cost…649171441_o

This is the one I had….

$(KGrHqZ,!o4FEh(idEg)BRLMeJR5C!~~60_57

he was dark brown with red overalls…..this one is missing his book….

There was one on EBay BRAND New in the box…

$T2eC16dHJGQE9noMbUZ-BRJs4K1fbg~~60_57

Missed him….but that is OK…I was amazed at the amount of these little guys that are out there…his name is Cubby….

Here is a video of how he is to work….

My husband says that I don’t need to go back to my childhood, because I never left it!  :):)

What toy brings back great memories and feelings for you?

Look…look…Jenny made digital papers for us!

When I first started blogging I found two blogs that took my breath away…Jenny Harris  from Allsorts and Elizabeth Andrus from Creative Breathing.   My world just opened up with color!!!!  I have always been a primary color girl but these ladies added turquoise and robin egg blue, purple and pink into my world!!!  Pink!!!!

YES!  Digital papers…I know you can print them out, but what incredible pages these will make digitally!  I can barely believe it, I told her to please keep going on these digital products….

You need to check these out…just click on the “Summer Cottage” to go to the product!

On the health front, today is the first real day I have felt like myself…thank you God!  I have been so stinkin’ sick!

images

My doctor want to do a CT scan just to make sure I am not in trouble with an obstruction and my wonderful insurance plan denied it, said I didn’t need it!  I guess they can pay for the surgery later…idiots!  We will insist they get it done… OK…thank you letting me vent…:):)

Have a great evening!!!!
