"Cultivate the Attitude of Gratitude".

I want to thank all of you who emailed and left comments, it all helped to get moving forward again…..

One of the comment mentioned the above thought…..and it struck a chord…I have so much to be thankful for! My family who loves me, the roof over my head ( which by the way is getting replaced due to hail damage, just found out yesterday), and the blessings of friends, to name just a few. And so, I want to share with you a random act of kindness bestowed on me….I received an email from a lady named Kathy….

Hi Sandy,

I started to read your blog back in January. I love all of the happy colors! I enjoy paper crafting and home decorating too. The reason I am writing is that a couple of years ago I bought some vintage decals on one of my thrift store/yard sale/flea market field trips. It's only a handful. I don't know what I thought I would do with them but I liked that they were vintage. Now I am cleaning out my studio and getting rid of some of the stuff I doubt I will use. I'd like to send the vintage decals to you! I knew immediately that you were the person for them when I first read your blog. Would you like to have them? Would you be willing to provide your mailing address? I will gladly send them off to you with NO OBLIGATION! I just think you would enjoy them more than I will. Thanks for having such a cute blog and sharing your treasures online.

Happy Monday! Kathy

And so a few days later this is the wonderful little package that arrived…

I almost didn’t want to open it, it was so cute! wrapped in wax paper with my favorite twine, and all of the vintage goodness!

But I finally did open it and this was the surprise!

Aren’t these just so cute!!!! I am sure I can find items to put all of these on….Thank you again Kathy, for your kindness and generosity. :)

Ooo! I've seen those black swan decals before. I think I must remember them from a childhood bathroom? I know that little care package was a "perk me up" for you!

Did my whiskey suggestion help? ;) Seriously, I've been clean and sober for 28 years and I don't drink a single drop of anything! I was just trying to cheer you up. ♥

I am glad to hear things are looking up for you. Sorry to hear about the roof though.
I have met the most wonderful people through blogging and have also been gifted things with no obligation. They did it just to make my day. And I pay it forward as I can as well.
Bloggers are special!

And you are very sweet.

I, too am glad that you have picked up courage. Depression can be a terrible thing. Do something each day that is a joy and that will help. Gratitude will also keep that depression at bay. In the end you'll do fine. Love...

Hi Sandy,
I know that I have been missing but I wanted to pop by to say Hi! Doesn't it make your heart sing when people share the little acts of random kindess with you? It wasn't a big deal but it let you know that someone was thinking about your happiness and they are trying to bring a smile to your day. I hope you are still smiling.

How sweet is that Sandy? There is a book out a few years back called Random Acts of Kindess. What joy random kindness brings to others. Thanks for the reminder!
