A Simpler Time

When I see some of the decorating that is being done in kitchens now days I am just amazed at the amount of money spent!

I like to imagine what it was like when these items were popular….

Or morning glories, Oh my gosh! And be sure to get ready for that spring line…..I would want them all!

And during World War II:

So many cute cute motifs, and I am sure there were 100’s more…I know I have a few that are not in these ads…..such fun fun items and such a simple way to add color and personality to your kitchen!

Wouldn't it be fun to open your cabinets and look at that!? I can just imagine it with some cheery Pyrex sitting on the shelf to match!

I found a package of Royledge at a yard sale years ago...it still lines the shelves of my yellow Zetta Cupboard. It's getting faded, but I never want to part with it. Red and Yellow flowers.

I remember my Mom using shelf edging 100 years ago when I was little. I loved the cheery colors. I think ours had fruit along the edge. I drooled all over the pictures of your little stove and dollhouse the other day...you have wonderful treasures Sandy. I'm glad that you and Wayne had a nice little get-away.
Take care

I've always wanted to get some edging for my cabinets, but I'm afraid they'll get ripped up by some people in this house who don't care about things like that! Maybe if I put it up high enough.....

Times sure have changed! I don't think most people bother with shelf liners anymore. I attached white lace to the fronts of my kitchen cabinets. I toss them in the wash once a year and that keeps them looking good :-)

I love that you shared those ads! My grandmother had that in her kitchen and when she passed away and we sold the house I kept some of it. Thanks for sharing and taking me back to a special time in my life!

I like the ads as much as the pretty liners. How could you not be happy in kitchens like with those colors and motifs. You always have the best images. That's why I'm always repinning you.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.
