Well, I finally got around to having time to get my dollhouse to my place, either my friend Dana was busy or I was…but we finally got it here!!!!!
Isn’t it cute????? I also noticed after looking at kits that you can by now like at Hobby Lobby, this has no siding….but that is OK with me…there is also a chimney that need to go at the top left peak. I have it, just need to glue it on.
It is a bit dusty…OK, really dusty, but I am going to have a good time just cleaning it! :)
Here are some shots from the back….
It needs some work, and a few things need glued back together, but that is going to be fun! Dana’s Dad built this in what we think in the 1980’s. Since everything is either mauve or that dusty blue from that era…..It has three floors and came with a lot of furniture….which I will be painting and changing. I will be re-wallpapering and flooring. The wallpaper is just like scrapbook paper so I think I will end up using some of my 40’s feel scrapbook paper. The floors come up easy as they are on very thin wood so you can get to the wiring for the lights. So it will be a piece of cake to replace them. And yes, the lightning works!
Here is one of the furniture pieces that i think is so cute….imagine it a cute color! And the dust gone! :) And look who wants to move in….
That’s right my Strawberry girl! I am hoping she can move in soon….I must think of a name for her…any ideas???? I know I could call her Elizabeth! :)
Here is a shot with everything out and cleaned up a bit….I just couldn’t wait….LOL
I think of how fun this will be to decorate for the holidays…..my only problem is all of that wonderful Renwal furniture I bought??? It is the wrong size! So I guess it’s back to Ebay with it, after I take some cute photos…..But I have some ideas for colors of things! And I think I will keep the baby and playpen….I am so happy to have this I am not even bummed about the fact that none of that sweet plastic furniture will work….Hmmmm of course, maybe a second tin dollhouse someday???? :):) Thanks for coming by and I will keep you updated as to the progress!

You have inspired me today!! I built a dollhouse in 1988....it is all mauve and blue. I have it on a very high shelf in my craft room. Tomorrow I am taking it down, photographing it, and doing a complete makeover on it. I am so inspired. Have a wonderful weekend.

FUN!! I can't wait to see how it comes along!
Sooooo cute--- and full of potential!!! I absolutely love that porch. Elizabeth(?)looks right at home and eager to move in!
Hold on to those Renwal pieces-- you have so many great ones. You could make a darling roombox or shadow box with them until you find that metal house!
I really need to work on The Little Pink House--there's always work to be done. I bought Meg (my doll who lives in The Little Pink House!) a Vespa scooter, and now I can't get her to stay home! Play, play, play, that's all she wants to do!
Hugs,
Jill
Sweet doll house! Youre going to have blast fixing and filling it up. I have two dollhouses much smaller then yours. You make me want to get them out. I should get one out and make it a halloween house! Oh if only I had the time!
have a great weekend sandy! and thanks for liking my little halloween bear. I'm thinking about making up a bunch of halloweenies and opening my etsy back up.. well see.. I'll let you know if i do.
hugs!

Hi Sandy~
Your dollhouse is so cute. I have one in my basement that my Dad built for my daughter around 1980. I think I need to drag it out and consider reviving it...since she doesn't have room in her condo for it-LOL! MY dollhouse (in the 50's now...you know I'm old!) was tin and all of your renewal stuff is what I had. You have made me (like thst? made me...hehehe)go to ebay and look at all they have there and I am so tempted to recreate that part of my youth. Don't part with your items...keep checking around for a tin house...I have seen them at antique shops and on ebay. (and for less than the $250 one that is on there now) I can't wait to see what you do with this one. You could end up in "This Old House"! Have fun!

Very sweet. I put a doll house together for my mom once. It took over 6 months...over 4000 shingles. Have fun!
Duh, you could give me the renwal!!!!! You know I'll take anything! Looks like you're gonna' have lot's of fun and now I'll never see you....
Hugs,
Meri
Sandy you mean to hang onto that Renewal I hope and put them in another house the right scale. I have the house you need it was from about 1945. I should get that photo out and post it of me receiving that doll house, tiny black and white shot it is. I'm in a bit of a jumble here with this construction and it will get worse before it gets better. I have all my doll houses Bob and I made stored in the basement as I had no room for them until the addition was built. I hope to have shelves up on the walls to set the doll houses some how. I can now actually 'walk' where my craft room will be since the plywood on top of the ceiling joists have gone up. Oh what light and view I will have but I'll loose a bit of the view from my computer window, I had to make concessions you know. Nan
That is a precious dollhouse. With lighting?? I didn't know they made them with lighting. Her dad must have been quite talented! You will have so much fun with this.....enjoy!!!!!

Hey Sandy! Oh' how fun. I'm really wanting one of these now. Do you suppose we're already starting to go through our second childhood? I want to do a nursery too and it's better than raising a child at this late stage.
Now back to why I'm here. I am so grateful to you for coming by and leaving me those kind thoughts. I wish I could have come sooner with the stress lately I just couldn't even get my head together for a complete thought. Thank you for caring enough to tell me about your own grandmother. It is hard and it sure scares me about getting old myself.
I hope you feel as blessed as I do for having such caring friends. All my love...Tracy :)
Such a beautiful doll house. Good luck with the renovations. Looking forward to your posts about your progress with it. I never had a doll house, so I will live vicariously through you.

What a wonderful dollhouse! I love seeing it, all dusty and jumbled up, full of possibility. I want one!
It's absolutely adorable! And three floors to decorate, oh my!
Brenda
Hi I know you will have lots of fun fixing it up! I think Elizabeth is a cute name for your doll, or Susie. Can't wait to see how you fix this up.
Debbie
Sandy, that is the cutest dollhouse! I can't wait to see how you decorate it and look forward to the "open house" :)! Have fun, Nan
