Where has the time gone?

Thirty years ago today I gave birth to my firstborn son. Bryan Burgess McClay was born at 12:59PM, it has been a hard labor and he was face up, so after two long hours of pushing they used forceps and he came into this world not a happy camper! I am not going to share those photos…he was pretty marked up. But I want to show you my sweet sweet son thru the years….

Mom and Bry 1980 This is one of my most precious photos, this is my Mom and Bry when we was about 2 months old.

Bryan Burgess McClay as a baby

This photo was taken at 6 months for my folks….my Mom only got one year with him, my Dad a little over two.

scan0107 scan0106 First birthday, we all have some of these shots, right?

scan0121 Birthday Number two at our apartment in Carson City, Nevada. It was a wonderful little town of about 20,000 then.

A couple more of the required birthday cake shots thru the years:

Bryan and his brother Chris, Chris came along when Bryan was 3 and a half, and he never had sibling issues until they got much older! :)

Bryan with his beloved dog, Corky…..

scan0100 Truly a pair.

scan0097 Helping me bathe my mare Chica. Chica is about 21 years old here, and an old hat with kids.

Bryan loved Sports, GI Joe, playing outside with his friends, and of course Nintendo…. Football was his real love when it came to sports, as a nine year old weighing 99 pounds the coaches loved him!

scan0130 scan0136

scan0137 He was a catcher in baseball, and could hurl that ball like nobody’s business. And if he was up and hit the ball, forget about it! :)

scan0120 GI Joe! One of many of his collection! And who can forget Start Wars? He still is a collector today.

And then there was Scouts,

scan0102 his Dad was the Den leader…they had a lot of fun together.

Then we got to the adolescent years, not an easy time for him. I don’t think it is an easy time for most of us.

scan0129 scan0105

scan0096 He is going to be a wonderful Dad someday, he is so good with kids! Just like his Dad.

And now, this is us…….

IMG_0394 this is me, my cousin Linda and Bry when I took him back to my hometown in Eau Claire, Wis. He had such a wonderful time connecting with everyone and seeing the sites and homes and places of my childhood summers. What a gift that was to me!

Xmas 2009 Bry and Chris Last Christmas with his goofy brother!

Happy Birthday Bry! As I took these photos out and started going thru your life, all I could think of was could I please have these years back???? Please????? We love you more than you can imagine!! And your Dad and me are so very proud of the wonderful man you have become!

What a loving tribute to your son Sandy! Bryan was an adorable little guy and a handsome man...you must be very proud. I love the picture with your Mom...I treasure the ones I have with my Mom and the kids, and I really love the one of the two of you in Wisconsin. You are so right...where does the time go?
It may be your birthday Bryan, but the gift was for your Mom. Enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday Bryan,

I've never met you, but if you're half of what your mom says you are.........well, I should meet you. Your mom adores you and your brother, and half the time I can't shut her up about you........blah, blah Bryan this, blah, blah Bryan that.......Geez!

You're a lucky boy to have such a loving mom, and I'm lucky to have her as my friend.

Love ya'

Happy Birthday to Bryan. I know you are very proud of him. We love our sons. I had a forceps delivery with my son too in 1962 before they really monitored the baby. He was just too big for me but what did they care they just tried to pull him on out which stretched his head and I thought I had given birth to a pin head. No kidding. No one told me his head would round out normal in a week or so and I was so young I dumb I didn't know. I left the hospital with a blanket up around his pin head so no one would see what kind of baby I had lol..

Belated birthday wishes to Bryan! This was such a nice tribute to your son. Really enjoyed seeing him grow up into a nice young man.

And now I see you're from Eau Claire, eh? I can't put my finger on it, but when I first stopped here, I had a feeling Sandy was from Wis or the Midwest. I grew up in the Dells, then moved and worked in Madison. Our cabin is up by Superior and lots of cabin people around us are from Chip-wa! LOL

Have a great Labor Day weekend.

Sandy, This is such a wonderful post! I loved the one of you washing your horse! I am so happy you liked the printers tray. I didn't even know that is what it is! I looked closely at the box. There isn't anything special other than 7 Gypsies and that it is for ATC cards. It was $20.00. There was also a wonderful smaller size with different sized trays that looked like fun. I purchased a black one just like this white one to make as an anniversary gift for my daughter-in-law the 31st of Oct. A Halloween theme, of course! Have a wonderful holiday weekend! E

Happy Birthday to Bryan. What a nice picture tribute. I can't believe my son will be 48 years old in a few weeks. Seems like just yesterday he was playing with G.I.Joes and playing Little League baseball.
