This is my first attempt at this endeavor...so we will see if it works! These photos are some of my own vintage things that I love, the baby shoes were my Dad's, at least that is what my Mom seemed to think years ago, but they have little red buttons under the bronze...the chair was a chair that my great great grandfather brought into his home in 1886, it is the "female" version of a parlour set that my great great grandparents had...my cousin Linda has the "male" version and it is a bit bigger....I would never attempt to sit in it...women were pretty small back then! :) The other photo is my wonderful Singer sewing machine, it has been electrified ( is that a word?) but I don't know how to sew, so here it is in the corner of my living room....I need to learn to do better photo's....my walls are a wonderful soft butter yellow ( one of my favorite colors) and the flash just makes it go away....hope you enjoyed my photos...better yet, I hope this works! Here goes something! :)

That chair is absolutely awesome!
P.S. I would get stuck on my butt if I sat down though.
Great post for VTT!
welcome to VTT and what lovely treasures you have for us today!!..i've got a Singer treadle machine too and it's just a gorgeous piece of furniture, isn't it..i'm interested in your 'electrified' one though, you will have to give it a go i bet it will be lovely to sew with. The lady chair is a stunner & those baby shoes are adorable! hope you'll be back again next week :)
When you learn to sew you will notice that the Singer makes lovely tiny stitches. It is a beautiful piece.
Thanks for joining the crowd at VTT.
Happy First VTT! Isnt it so much fun! Loved looking at your things :) The sewing machine table - looks like one my mom had altho i thought it was an electric machine so hm, not sure!
You did fine. No one would have noticed that this was your first time joining the crowd! Great post and pics.
Thanks for sharing!
Living it up at Lakewood,

I wish I had a sewing machine like yours. I would definitely use it. My sewing machine is buried in a closet--it is too much work to get it out and pack it up again so I haven't used it for a long time.
Welcome to Vintage Thingies Thursday...I am so glad you joined us..and WHAT lovely things you have on display....I wish I had a sewing machine like that one...such a treasure. Thanks for sharing with us your great vintage things...
Have a great Weekend and a wonderful VTT!
My walls are also a soft butter yellow and they look terrible in a photo. I too need some lessons. I remember my mom's old portable Singer machine with it's big wooden case. I think my sister who doesn't sew has it.
Hi Sandy! Welcome to VTT! After reading your profile, I decided to become a follower! I love 40s kitchen things too. I like that you've named your blog after your grandparents' home too. My grandparents' house always felt more like home to me than my own home!
Love your old sewing machine, and it doesn't matter if you don't sew, it's still going to sit there looking pretty!
Have a great day!

You have some wonderful treasures and memories. These type vintage are great. You did a super job showcasing them.
Welcome to VTT! Love the photo of Joe and Josie, they were obviously meant for each other!

How lovely, Sandy!
A graceful chair, a charming vignette with a well-loved old Singer, and baby shoes---what a wonderful ensemble for your first post!
Today is only my second, but folks have been VERY gracious and welcoming.
lovely old goodies
Good for you having your treasures on display. I need to get mine out of the garage and start enjoying them!
Your sewing machine looks great. How special to have a chair that belonged to your great great grandparents and the little shoes are just precious!
Welcome to VTT, my grandmother, mother & I all had Singer sewing machines with a treadle just like yours.
I have a more modern one now but wish I had kept the old one, they are nostalgic.
a bientot

You submitted your FIRST VTT just like an old pro!!! Love the bronzed baby shoes. I REMEMBER when doing that was all the rage.
Of course, I was a mere babe in arms at the time - - -
Come to VTT again, soon and often.
