While we are on the theme of vintage kitchen items and such….If you could have a vintage canister set, brand new, any set you wanted, what would they be????
Look at the prices……
Tin????
Wood????
I own a set of these ( somewhere in the storage room) that I was going to sand and redo….that was about 10 years ago or so…lol
Retro metal?
I actually owned the set in the lower left corner, Pic N Save sold a set of 4 in the 70’s….whole set for $2.95! I also owned a complete set including the S+P and the Breadbox of the Vintage sign set, like the Flour one in the middle bottom and upper right photo with the Coffee and Tea. Mine were brand new and not faded, wish I still had them, these go for $$$!
Tupperware???
Ceramic?
Who can forget the “Merry Mushrooms” from Sears? They had at least 50 pieces! :)
I also had a set of Mallard Ducks from Mervyns
….they had at least 20 pieces that matched them also.
I have to say that mine would be tin, I just adore so many of these vintage canisters!
A complete set of these would do nicely….how about you????
Thanks for coming by…..

p.s. I really want to see your craft room!!!A post about it would be AWESOME!! HINT, HINT! :)
Decisions, decisions!
I love tins and that's mostly what I have but a whole set of brand new red Lustoware? Ooo! That would be fun!
They are all so pretty! But I think I would have to say tin or lustro ware! I remember my grandma having lots of different containers of the Tupperware :) Have a wonderful day! xo Holly

I don't think I could pick just one set! I love all the Lustro-Ware and the tin ones. The ceramic owls are so cute too.
Tin, tin, tin!! I also love the designs. I always have my eye out for them.
Tin! I love the aqua ones in the middle of the last row!
I also have a couple of aluminum ones I use to store ribbon and bits in my craft room.

They are ALL so fun. My grandmother had a set of those wooden rooster canisters. (My sister has those now.)
Love the Lustroware set with the daisies! For craft storage, I like things I can see through or I forget what's in them :D
Oh, I love the tin and the pink and black plastic set!! So fun!! xo Heather
I would go for the whole set of lusterware in the top set on the right! Id also like the ketchup and mustard set while Im at it!
I have a ceramic set that I dont even use from target. Two of them set out on my counter and are empty! perhaps I need a new set that I like better!
have a great day.. and thanks for putting that thought in my head. I might get a little obsessed about that now... LOL!
happy day!

I spy so many lovely sets in this post. I've been looking for a complete set at estate sales (which are completely scarce now that winter is alive and well). I really have a thing for the decorative tin ones. What a fun post.
I love the Aqua tin ones in the 3rd photo! I actually owned the tin ones in the 5th photo back when I first got married in 1980. I still use my Tupperware ones that I bought sometime in the mid-eighties they are clear with blue lids. Great post!

I think I like the tins best and then the lustro-ware. Also like Kromex (I just got vintage Kromex bread box).
And I wish I still had the ones I had in the 70s.
This is such a fun post, Sandy! I would love a set of aqua Lustro Ware canisters. Or aqua metal ones. Can you tell I'm digging aqua lately?!
Oh those tin ones are awesome...but I still have & use a set of the Tupperware canisters in blue...they seal so well & keep things fresh. They're in a cupboard since I don't have enough counter space in this tiny 1950s kitchen...but they do their job!
The pink & black lustro would be mine!
Hard decision, though.
Wish I had counter space for a vintage tin set!
I am with you, Sandy! I love the tin canisters, and that set in your last pic are just gorgeous!
I too love the Tins best.. tupperware best way to store!
I had the ceramic ones with the mushrooms way back in the 80's. I think I would choose the Lusto-Ware.
Debbie
Your favorites that you showed at the end are my favorites also . I have tin canisters and I love them.
It's a toss up...Lusterware or tin! I know how about both??
Oh dear! I'm starting to see things I had as a newlywed listed as vintage!
