I have been very very busy getting my house in order, with Wayne away I have the ability to make messes and leave them for a day or so. I don’t like to do that when he is home. I am done with the guest room, and about 75% done in the master bedroom and closet ( which is huge and stores way too much), now I am back to my craft room….
Meri came over one day a couple of years ago and put all of my paper in piles according to colors, it took hours and then I didn’t like it. (Sorry about that Meri) I felt uncomfortable breaking up “sets” by different designers and manufacturers. But I don’t like setting it up my companies like this either….

…because I can’t remember what is in the set! I have them now in the Cropper Hopper containers like above, I do like these, and I have them by themes, babies, horses, holidays, and some by makers like October Afternoon and Crate Paper….That’s not really working either, it is just not working! I am stumped because I don’t know how to do this. I need to keep them in these Cropper Hopper holders and I have two shelves built for the holders….but what do you do with your paper stashes, color, theme, manufacturer???? Help please !
I am so famous for getting set up to do something ( like paper crafting) and then getting so overwhelmed I don’t do it! And this is one of the reasons why…..
Also an update on Maya…..
She has torn loose one of the 100 pound sutures and the little metal clamp at the end is floating free in her leg and her body is not happy about it….so it has built up a fluid pocket around the metal…..
See the big lump? So tomorrow morning she goes back to the vet to have a minor procedure to get the metal clamp out….she is walking much better and I am sure when this is out she will be well on her way to being herself. She will always gimp a bit, but we have lots of Vetprofen if needed….my poor pup, she has been through it….
One a happier note…
Look what Sue from Trinkets and Treasures sent me for the nest swap….
As Meri said is “this stinkin’ adorable” or what???? I just love it and I wish I could think outside the box this way…..maybe someday! :) Thank you very much Sue…:):)

The paper dilemma is one I'm sure most of us face. Right now I have my paper in 12 by 12 drawers (sets of three)organized by holiday or theme. I still have to sort through the stack in the drawer, but they are much smaller stacks than they were. =D
I have my paper in drawers...not organized at all...a project for the summer is to organize my craft supplies.....and not to spend any more money until I know exactly what I have. I think you're right organized by holiday or theme! So happy Maya is healing is coming along!
How sweet is that little doll in the nest...sigh. I hope the worst is over for Maya. Hugs to you both.
HEY SANDY!!!
You look so organized with those boxes! I have mine in the 12x12 shelves and they are by color or theme/christmas, or just on the shelf! LOL! It is hard to decide on storing them. I can see them and that helps.
Poor Maya! Sounds like she is getting better!
Very sweet nest swap. I'm going to post mine later this week! Fun swap!
Warmly,
deb
WIsh I could help with the paper. I have a hard time keeping my fabrics organized. :) Hope sweet Maya feels better soon!! Love your nest swap!! So cute! xo Heather
Love your nest. Poor Maya.....hope her vet oes oay and they fix her up all nice and dandy. I feel so bad for my pets when they are not up to par.
Great little nest swap gift! She is adorable. I know what you mean about the paper organization thing. My studio workshop cottage will soon be done and I am trying to figure out some of these things. I'll be reading your posts...I'm sure some of your blogger friends have this figured out!
As a person who has a scrapbook paper addiction (I'm in a 12x12 step program) I know exactly what you are going through. I tried a couple of different ways until I came up with this.
My paper is in files sorted by:
- color for the solids
- themes (christmas,baby,camping,speciality paper,etc.)
- design (floral,stripes,dots,oriental,mod)
Yes, it breaks up the set but for me I usually have one of those two groups as the main idea then I can break it down to a more specific choice.
I'm so happy that Maya is feeling better =] and the nest is awesomelly awesome.

Your poor Maya. She really has been through the ringer and back. If you are having trouble trying to decide how to sort your papers, maybe you are the type of person who really needs keep a cross reference file, so that you can quickly locate whatever you need, by color, by theme, by artist, etc...
hey sandy pie! I have the same problem with scrap paper.. mine's a mess... seriously! but it is what it is. I am not a neat crafter... nope.. not at all.
LOVE the nest that sue sent you.. how cute it is. and most of all... I'm so glad that your doggy is feeling better. sweet little thing! I just hate when an animal is hurting.
have a great weekend and a Happy mothers day!

I sort my paper by style, but I keep certain vendors together. Hubs made me adjustable shelving which makes it easy to pull out a shelf and look for what I want. I like to see my paper. I hope your sweet pup is on the mend.
Oh my goodness! I feel like such a simpleton! I buy the paper in the books and leave it in there! It's all themed with a solid, stripe, print for each color in the book. I do buy holiday themed books too, Tim Holtz and a Nordic Christmas print book made their way in last Xmas along with a couple of OA books, I leave together, already in their color families. EZ Peasey! As the Young Airman says, "Don't over-think it!"
Hello there. Can you believe that its 3am and I cant sleep...and one of the things I've been wondering about is your Maya! So I hopped on here just to see what the latest is with your baby! Bummer about the little fluid pocket. But I am thrilled to see that she is near the end of all this mess and going to be back to fun doggie days soon! Hope you are doing well too! As for the paper organizing...ha! I'm the last gal to ask. Mine is just in one big pile!
