Only two more months and ……

Goodbye July!!!! Here in Arizona summer lasts until almost the middle of October, but the nights get cooler in late September…  just think just two more months and my plants won’t look like this….

and this….

my poor roses will go from looking like  this….

to this again….

My Garden at its best!

Everything is still alive….but barely….there is no summer flower gardens in Arizona unless you do desert plants which I am so sick of having lived here forever it seems….

So…..

If I can just keep them alive a bit longer….  :)

              last winter…..

Meri and and her daughter Abbey and me went out to a new antique store ( for me anyhow) in southern Scottsdale today, and as usual Meri finds all of the cool stuff!  I swear I look right past it…I am sure she will show you it on her blog….she just loves rubbing it in! LOL

I got a book and a postcard…..

Love these old readers from elementary school, especially the graphics!

And the postcard was from 1838!!!!!!

When I got home, these were in the mail…..my very favorite vintage Women’s magazines…..

Once in a while I get lucky and find a whole batch cheap!  I love looking for magazine and such when I got back to Wisconsin…they always have a ton of them!

Had a great day with a great friend and her lovely teenage daughter, what more could I ask for?????

Thanks for stopping by…..

those magazines look like they would be fun to look through. now just find a cool place to sit and read through them.
happy day!

Sandi, I live in Pa and we are having such a hot and harsh summer my planters don't look much different than yours! I just cut them back.

And maybe by fall I'll be walking on two feet again instead of hopping!

Hi Sandy,
I am so jealous that you live so close to a blogging buddy! How fun to be able to get together with a girl friend and spend the day treasure hunting! You found some cute goodies. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. It is so hot and muggy here. We stay in most of the day but do go out and enjoy our front porch after the sun goes down. hubby put up 4 ceiling fans a couple of months ago on the front porch! They make it so nice out there. It helps during the day too but it really feel nice when the sun goes down. Stay cool.
Hugs,
Lynn

Dear Sandy! I wanted you to know how much I love the wonderful friendship banner I received from you! I can feel the love you have for your family just looking at it. I love all the extra little goodies as well. I think I am going to make a scrap book just for the fun cards and extras from my blogging friends. Thank You!

I feel your pain, er, I mean heat! I deal with the same scorching heat/drought here in central FL! Hope you're keeping cool:)
