Valentines and Mesa Arizona “Snow” !

Hi Everyone, sorry it has been so long between posts, but I have been busy making Valentines…..and enjoying the fact that things are getting a little better every day. But that is another post for another day! :)

I have been having a ball making Valentines to send to some of my friends…..

IMG_2557

I used my Cricut to cut the tags…..I didn’t go with a heart as the cartridge I had I didn’t care for the shape, I know that sounds silly, but these came out fine anyhow…..

I have had this paper for years had bought it at Hobby Lobby, you can still get it there and I wanted to use it for the Scottie Dog shape ( you can just see his tail in the above photo)….

V paper 1

V paper 2

V paper 3

It is all vintage Valentines and I thought it would work so well….but once I got the little dogs cut out they were not quite what I wanted…..but oh well….live and learn! I still LOVE this paper! The last sheet will be going around a frame…..:)

I also plan on sending some of these, I won this Valentine on Etsy I think and it is huge but it is one of those sucker cards….remember these????

V suckers 1

I printed them smaller, and they look pink here, my table on my patio is fire engine red! I just have to send these….the sucker goes in her hand and is tacked down in the white start burst……

And I also bought these bag toppers I think last year at Hobby Lobby…

IMG_2554

I just love these…and I love cellophane bags, wrap you name it! I love getting items wrapped in them too! It’s a kid thing….:)

It has also been “snowing” leaves here in my “ back yard “ ( which is a small park where I live) and I wanted to show you how pretty it looks….I know this is images you normally see in October, but here in Mesa, it is January and February!

IMG_2564 This is one of three huge Cottonwood trees I have, luckily none of them give off the fluffy white stuff that Cottonwoods are known for…..just leaves!

Thanks for stoppin’ by!!!!!!

PS…..I have a very special project I am going to be showing you all.  It has to do with a wonderful gift from my friend Elizabeth!  More to come…soon! :)

So beautiful, Sandy! I miss Mesa so much! You're so lucky to be there...so many of my old family stories take place right where you are...

LOVE your sweet Valentines! Each one is just adorable!

So glad things are feeling a bit better...time is a good thing, isn't it?

Have a most wonderful day, my friend!

Hey Sweetie! It sounds like you might be feeling better. I think of you daily with a prayer. I've pretty much been away from my blog and even blog hopping lately too.

You sound so much like me. I still love all those wonderful packages too. Anything that reminds me of the little party favors we had as children is so special to me. I think I was at the tail end of those times. I loved the crape party favor cups and the plastic ones too.

Your tags are adorable and I love the sucker cards. All of it's just precious.

Our yard is starting to look the same here. We have LOTS of oak trees and the think spring is spelled FALL. So here comes our raking season.

Hugs and love...Tracy :)

Sandy,
I really like the shape of your Valentine's. I have been thinking of buying a Cricut as there is nothing new on the Slice that I like (and very little coming out). The sucker ones are adorable. I was afraid when I saw that it is snowing in Mesa, as we are coming there soon. My husband is in treatment at Stanford and his parents are there and longing to see him.
Hugs,
Suz

These are so cute. I don't know much about the Cricut. Do you think it's worth the money and for cartridges? We have snow on the ground still!

What adorable valentines! I was a majorette as a girl and just loved getting cards like this! Especially with a sucker! I thought you were going to say it was really snowing - you got me! I'm glad you are enjoying the change in weather. Today in the desert it was 78 - amazing!

My Valentine CD arrived today ... love it Sandy so many cuties Thank you! The valentines you posted are precious. I have similar paper, but just can't bring myself to cut beautiful paper into bits...I do, but it takes a serious conversation with self to make it happen ;) Good to see you crafting !

That paper is sure just the cutest I've seen, we don't have a Hobby Lobby in California, I'm really not quite sure why, I bet it would do pretty well out here. I love the valentine with a special spot for a sucker, I too have a few of those. Glad to see you are doing your thing again. oxox, Diane

I LOVE Valentine's Day too ~ such a nice day to do something special for all those special people in your life. Those sucker valentines brought back wonderful memories. I think maybe I will try to create some for this year. I would like the answer to Brenda Kula's question also about the Cricut machine. I have been looking at the Cricut Imagine. It all costs so much money ~ a major investment!! Is it worth it?? I already have a Grand Calibur and Nestabilities so wondering if I can't make do with that. I also am wondering about your CD with the Valentines on it. Are the images clear and bright? When I download the vintage valentines off Flicker I am disappointed in them. They are not the quality of graphics that I am used to. Maybe you can help me out. My email is anita@old.com if you would like to reply by email rather.

Oh dear I just noticed that my email address is wrong on my previous comment. Sorry! Correct one is anita@pld.com. Thanks

Hi Sandy: I think your Valentines are precious, and I like that they are different and unique and not in the heart shape. I have NEVER seen a Hobby Lobby, but I certainly read about it all the time on the blogs. We have Michaels about 50 miles from the house, but that is it for this part of VA. We don’t have any warm weather here, either. Loved seeing you yard. It is so inviting. Have a good week .

Oh my goodness, Sandy, those cards are adorable. I LOVE the shape. I have been trying to find a shape like that to make our daughter's high school graduation announcements but nada. Is Cricut very expensive? About how big is the cut? I need something around 5 X 7 or 4 X 6. So hard to find.

Thanks for sharing.

Isn't the Cricut great for cutting tags! I just graduated to the Cricut Expression...got a great deal on one. I'm so happy to see that you're creating again Sandy. I say a little prayer for you every day. I've been working on my Valentines for our swap..having fun doing it too. I love Valentine's Day almost as much as Christmas. The paper you're using is great...love the vintage images!
Have a good Monday! I'm having a giveaway this week...check my blog for details later today!

EAK! Sandy what a wonderful post! Your Valentines are beyond cute and so you! Do the leaves fall in the in winter in Arizona? I have always been curious about your address and Lot. That you have a park in your yard, I am dying to know what type of place it is that you live. I have a VDay project coming up using the very paper you have (like minds) It is just too cute for words! You have absolutely outdone yourself Sandy! Happy Dance here! E

Your valentines are so cute! And I have that same paper from HL. I think I bought it last year, and still haven't done anything with it. I have too many things that I want to make, and end up not making anything!
