Our Abbey Girl

Well, Abbey has been 7 days with this splint/cast and she is just as spunky and playful as always!

038 redone'

Bryan has had to re wrap it about every 5 or 6 hours, he is going thru a lot of vet wrap! She goes into day so they can redo it as at the top of her leg, she is getting a pink spot that looks sore…..she is so full of it and she is TEETHING big time, I have wounds to prove it…..little stinker!

But when she poops out it is immediate!!!! I had bought this bed for a fake cat that I gave my son Chris last Christmas, she saw it and loved it! It is now her bed outside of her kennel……Is this cute or what????

048

She has to get here head kind of under the lip…..please keep those prayers coming….she is getting better everyday, I am sure. Wednesday or Thursday they take it off and run new X-rays…..

Thank you for all of your comments on my grand pup…..she is really special to all of us!

PS....The prayers worked! She went to the vet yesterday, he took x-rays and the leg was so much better that the vet took the splint off! It has a minute space now, but the vet stated it will be together soon! Her leg was smaller as she hasn't been using the muscles but the vet said that will change quickly! So lasy night she got her first bath, the leg was really stinky!!!! I want to thank all of you that prayed and gave us positive feedback, this little one is already a family member, and we are glad we are not facing surgery on such a youngster....:):)

Such a sweet pup! I love that picture of her curled up in that cat bed. I'll pray that this little cutie heals quickly and can get back to racing around and acting like a puppy again!

Such a cutie! Years ago my hubby decided he wanted a Siamese cat. (I don't like Siamese cats!) So I bought him a kitten for Christmas. Within a couple of weeks he had broken his leg in a fall . . . he was walking across the shower curtain!!! We named him Arnold (pronounced Ahhnuld, as in California's Governor, then actor) because he was so acrobatic and active. Within a few months, hubby tired of his incessant crying, so we found a nice young couple to adopt him. Never again!

Ahhhh..Sandy...the picture of Abbey in the "dog" bed is just too cute. I wonder how long she will be able to fit into it..lol...growing pup and all.
I'm sure she will mend perfectly. Give her a hug from all of us out here.

That's a real tough one, a pup with a cast. They love to chew everything and what better than that. It's a challenge for all of you but you'll get through it. Nan

Poor baby! So glad she is getting good care! Our fur-kid just had 2 surgeries and keeping them away from their sutures is always a circus. I made her a little outfit and everything (the cone of shame was too horrifying for her, hehe). Fingers crossed it's healing well and she can get back to her puppy self!!

Oh my goodness, I am quite certain I have a English Pointer who is probably kin to your sweet pup. I have a male pointer that has a polka dot on his head also. I raise Pointers and have three of them. I lost my beloved Baby Daisy this past spring, she made the 4th pointer in our family. They are such sweet loving pwts and very playful and settle down so nice when its time too. I think there might be a picture of Ozzy on my blog listed under puppies, if not, I'll have to post a special picture just for you. you won't believe how much they look alike. Ozzy is a lemon and white and the 2 girls are liver and white.
Blessing to you and I hope you puppy is good as new very soon.
