Come and get warm!

I just got done looking at some of my favorite blogs and I just can't believe the weather some of you are putting up with! So, I thought I would show you some warmth! LOL

Arizona is just gorgeous this time of year. We put up with 100+ degrees in the summer so we can have this in the winter!

My Orange trees are just about ready to let go of their fruit. But as you can see from the ground, it looks like fall at the same time!

We have three massive cottonwood trees ( without the "snow" ) in the little park behind our home. And as far as they are concerned it's fall!

My roses started their first bloom shortly before Christmas, I haven't had any time to clean them up so they look really ratty, but the color is nice. The beautiful red bush behind them is bougainvillea, they bloom most all year and come in wonderful oranges, purples and this bright red/pink. ( Notice my soil in this photo? That's right, what soil? It is hard as a rock! )

This bird is a Roadrunner. I am sorry the photos are a little blurred, he moves really fast! They are native to Arizona. They are meat eaters and so birds scatter when they show up. Aggressive buggers! One person told me his grandparents use to feed the roadrunner in their backyard little meatballs! LOL This one is huge!!!! He is at least 14 inches from the tip of his beak to the end of his tail. A lot of people in my park have taken photos of him! He seems to be a loner. No one has seen two of them together. He runs just like the roadrunner in the cartoon with Wiley Coyote.

It is suppose to "cool" down to the high 60's today, it was mid 70's yesterday. So, I hope this helped warm a few of you up! My husband gets tired of the sunny days, I could have them 365 days a year! Oh by the way, I have a guest room! So come and sit on my patio and take in the sun! You might even leave with a tan! LOL Take care and thanks for stopping by!

Oh, you know I'm jealous! It's 6 degrees here and the windchill (I bet you don't have that in AZ) is -10. It was refreshing to see a sunny day even if it was just pictures. You live in a beautiful place and I loved the roadrunner! Have a nice day! Twyla

Sandy, What a smile you bring to me today. I love the peek at the houses in Arizona. They are so... Arizonian. I'm fascinated by house styles. You have given me such a laugh today. We are two of a kind! I absolutely love my garland!!!! It is beyond cute. Here I talked about not sending things to people, and I am as bad as you with two Valentine Boxes to go out and a Gnome giveaway. I can see a resolution we are both going to have trouble with. Sincerly, I am so excited by your generous gift! Elizabeth

So are you prepared for all of us to show up on your doorstep? I would like a private room though because I snore really loud.

Well, it is certainly cold here..something like 3 degrees when we walked outside after working until 10pm...should be illegal. Although it was a very, very long day on campus, the snow was still coming down as it had done all day, it sparkled like crazy as we walked to one of the two cars parked in the parking lot. School starts Monday and I am already behind. When I live on Table Rock Lake a Roadrunner just like yours would come to the kitchen door each day. He was so cool. ~Kelly

Sandy, you just warmed me up 10 degrees with this sunny post from one of my favorite states. We lived in Mesa, Arizona for about 9 months, before we moved to Texas. That was in 2005. Your patio looks lovely and has a pleasant view.
Have a fabulous weekend.

I should be visiting my sister this time of year shouldn't I? She lives in Mesa too, in a grove. That road runner is too cute. Enjoy your sunshine, it's freezing here in Hampton, VA. Way colder than it is supposed to be and I don't like it one bit! xo, suzy

Sandy, I'm already on your patio with my feet up and an iced coffee in my hand! (In my mind anyways!) Thanks for the warm-up, your photos are inspirational - I think I'll browse the seed catalogs today!

Soooo different that Northern Illinois!!!!! It's fun to see the roses blooming.

I have added you to the Vintage Valentine Card Party. You can come by and use either button. The voting is so close that I am going to let people choose. Thanks for participating! xo Joan

I may just take you up on that guest room! It's really cold in East Texas. My pond is frozen. The coldest it's been in probably 14 years, they say. You may see me pulling up any time now.

People are going to be jealous of you Sandy :-) I'm a desert dweller too, we live in the high desert of So. Cal. though, so I think it might get a little colder here sometimes. We do have hot summers. Those are beautiful pictures. We've had daytime temps in the high 60's but our nights are down near freezing.
Blessings,
Marcia

So different than where I live in Oregon. I couldn't do sunny days all the time - I love the rain and cold. So that is roadrunner huh? I didn't realize they were so aggressive - would be so strange to have them just running around like that.

I plan to be in Tucson in February and all I want to see is a little sunshine! I wouldn't mind if it were warm too. Thanks for the glimpse of sunny skies! -amy
