We brought her home Tuesday afternoon and when I got in the backseat with her she just collapsed into my lap. Dr. Oliver was so upset that this happened that he spoke to the office manager and they are going to redo the surgery tomorrow morning no charge and after a couple of hours we are taking her home....he is going to use 100 pound suture.... I sure hope this was the right decision, she is in a lot of pain....with a Fentanyl Patch and Tramadol, vetprofen and a mild tranquilizer ...please keep us in your prayers...

Things could be better.....
Maya had her knee surgery Monday morning and it was a great success, but they insisted on keeping her overnight and no matter what they gave her they couldn't knock her out as she was so anxious to be away from us, and she kept getting up and tore the 80 pound suture Dr. Oliver used as a replacement for the ligament.

I always think it's so sad when pets need medical attention because they can't tell you what's wrong or what would make it feel better. I hope things clear up quickly for Maya..it will be a relief for you both.
ReplyDeleteHang in there

ReplyDeleteWow! I have never seen them bust the repair. I think it is good that they are going to let her go home. You will have more to do to keep her calm but she will be better and rest where she is comfortable. I am so sorry it has to be redone and so soon. But if she got through it well first time this time will be great too. Just hope the 100 lb works! We don't even have that. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.
