It’s Rednesday!

A25

It is Rednesday at Sue’s place http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com/.

Today I am using photos from the the web, but I do have these first two items!

I love these little pitchers! I actually have a full size color ad for these! They came in Kix Cereal Boxes back in the 40’s….I am missing the elusive green one….

The “red” one is actually a red orange, but I just love them!

I got this fantastic piece at Hope Gospel Mission Store in Eau Claire a few years ago….mine is just as perfect as this one!

!B07vGEw!2k~$(KGrHqQOKiQEw13iIBCdBMc,hos6C!~~_3 Just love the graphics!

I keep photos of things I see that I would love to possibly own someday and this was one of them! Isn’t this just perfect????? I wish I had a place to put one! :)

DSC_0161 copy Isn’t it amazing what a little paint and glaze can do??????

And this was on EBay……I found a set that showed the “before” shot…

After, again some paint and a few new decals…..

This sold for $20.00 !!!! My friend Cheri and I had a business on Ebay years ago and sold many refurbished red and white items….there was a real market 10 years ago…..

Thanks for stopping by and please go see all of the other wonderful posts of fun red items at It’s a Very Cherry World!

  4. I thought that was a food chopper until I took a closer look. I have never seen a whipper like that.

  7. Cute stuff Sandy...I especially love the red buffet. I need to look at furniture pieces like that with a creative eye instead of what I just see. Thanks for sharing with us on Rednesday.

  8. I really liked the "before and after" spice jar photos..someone did a wonderful job refurbishing them. I think red and white is always in style.

  9. Wow Sandy, what a great redo on those bottles and carrousel. That buffet is beautiful.

  10. Love all the red goodies, especially that sideboard! My kitchen table and chairs are about that same color. They are an old (probably post WWII) dining set that I bought for $120 - already refinished. There is a table, extra leaf, and 4 chairs, and the chairs have the pressed wood design on the back. I just love the brightness in my farmhouse kitchen!

  11. Sandy, Cute cute stuff. I love the little pitchers-I have an orange one but didn't know they came in cereal boxes. Also love the spice rack redo-unbelievable what a little paint can do. Great job!

  12. I've seen those little pitchers at antique stores, and they're always so expensive. I had no idea they originally came in cereal boxes. Now THAT was a great prize at the bottom of the box!
I would love to have that red buffet too!
    Happy REDnesday!

  20. Hey Sandy. I just wanted to pop in and visit. I'm glad I did. I love how your block is all tricked out for Halloween. It's so fun. Wow didn't that spice set turned out fantastic! Just as cute as can be. I so wish they still put giveaways in cereal boxes and soap boxes. Who would've ever thought that those cute pictures were freebies back then.

    Have a blessed day friend....Tracy :)

  21. Those little pitchers that came in Kix cereal boxes are so cute. I think Kix should do that again. I never buy Kix, but I would buy several boxes if cute little pitchers could be found inside once again!

    Love,

  24. Sandy, I found that Halloween Countdown here:
    www.widdlytinks.com
You will have to change the size though, because it's too big for the sidebar. If you don't know how to do that, let me know and I can help you!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sandy, I just looked at the code on my countdown, and I changed it to this: Width 220, Height 200
That size should work for you too.

  29. Hi Sandy! That hand whipper thingy really brought me back to my kiddie-hood ... my Mom had one!
    And they really do work.

Love your red choices this week -- neat sideboard, and that makeover of the little spice jars is so clever; I never would have thought of that.
