It is time for Rednesaday again and I just love this new graphic that Sue has come up with! :)
Today I am going to share a couple of my favorite red items….first is my sweet little Strawberry Days peg doll that Elizabeth at Creative Breathing made me!
Isn’t she just the cutest little doll? The chair tht is next to here is a vintage Renwal Dollhouse Furniture Co. It was fromt he late 1950’s early 1960’s I believe….I am buying pieces one a a time to go in my dollhouse….which is another post!
This is my group so far…..The chair might be from a different scale, as there was 1” and 1/2” dollhouse furniture…. but I love the blue and the red…and that sweet little sewing machine????
Look at the detail!!! The drawers open, the machine goes down and there is a cover, just like a real machine! The treadle even moves…
I can’t wait to get these items in a little house. I actaully have a chance to get a handmade Victorian Mansion….but I am keeping quiet about it right now, so I don’t blow the deal! :)
And of course, who could for get Scottie????? Isn’t he just the perfect pooch?
I recently won a baby, a playpen and another rocker in an EBay auction….they are also all of the red/yellow colors. Renwal came out with multiples color combos, but of course this fits me to a “T” !

ReplyDeleteMy husband built doll house for years..not the normal kind..but sturdy durable last forever 2 story house..the ones the girls had are just sitting in the shop..me thinks it's time to play house!!!!! A new 50's paint job and walla..cindy has a new toy!!! Where do you order the furniture at? Only on E-bay I hope not..hate to compete with friends ordering..lol

ReplyDeleteLove the renwal furniture. That sewing cabinet is adorable. I have a few pieces and have made shadow boxes with them. Lots of fun. The peg doll that E. made is too cute!
Sandy I have that sewing machine from my childhood, mine is opposite on coloring with the blue drawers. It's in good shape too for being played with so much over the years.

The little rocker is so precious. I love the red too. Now who would have guessed that you would like red/blue and yellow. Certainly not me.
Love your dolly. What a beautiful job your friend did making her. She fits right in with everything else. I love it. Can't wait to see your doll house, and keep us posted on the Victorian. Who said we couldn't grow up and play with doll houses?

Love the colorful furniture and adorable little doll that your friend made. I remember having that exact same sewing machine and rocking chair when I was a little girl!! Where did you get it? ReplyDeleteOh' I just love miniature doll houses. The furniture brings back such wonderful memories of my own doll house. You know the kind from the 1960's made of tin or some such metal with that great plastic furniture. Not nearly as elaborate as the wooden scale models but still wonderful memories. And those pieces you have are fabulous. I have never seen the sewing machine before. I love it. And I love E's goodies to you too.

I hope you get your dollhouse...lots of fun. Right now I am "flipping" a Victorian dollhouse my friend gave me when she was clearing out her basement. I almost didn't take it as I have a dollhouse and no more room, but she built it herself from a kit and I knew she was gonna give it to her church rummage sale. It was a 1970s look, browns, tans with dull "wallpaper" interiors. I just finished peeling off the old wallpapers and painting the exterior a pretty aqua with white gingerbread trim. I am lovin' it! I have decided it will be called "The Mermaid Seaside Inn" - a New England beachy feel with seaglass colors & shabby chic like furniture...I gotta find some pretty scrapbook paper to do the walls now.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a doll house as a kid and never got one until I bought my own when I was in my 40s! I think it is more fun doing the make-over house 'tho...my imagination has room to play. :)
