Journals for the Craft Show

Hi Everybody! I am getting busy making things for the craft show we are having in April here in Mesa! I have got one journal done and am in the middle of the second one .

When I first started this, my perfectionism was really getting in the way. Oh, that isn't straight, and this is wrong and oh why did I put the sticker there???? Geesh!

So now I having a better time after trashing three of these! LOL

Here is the first completed one: ( color isn't quite as bright as it really is)

Journal #1 front

And here is the back:

Journal #1 Back

As you can see, the paper didn’t go on quite square, but I am going with it anyhow!

I got 10 black composition notebooks for 2.50 at Staples after Christmas on sale.

I bought red and blue and yellow duck tape at Wal-Mart and redid the spine colors. Everything else I already had! And in multiples! LOL

This is the one I am working on now:

Journal #2 Front not finished

Not sure what I am going to do from here, but I will find something fun!

This creativity stuff is getting to be fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Such adorable journals, Sandy--everyone will love them--we do get caught up in the tiny details, don't we? Really kills the creativity sometimes!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

  2. Hi Sandy,
Well, we were blogging friends and now we're Flickr friends...anything else? Facebook? LOL! I love your journals! Aren't they fun to make? I never thought about Duck tape-brilliant...I always just work around the black. Now that Duck tape comes in so many different colors that is the perfect solution. I am so random when I work, never measure anything...just eyeball it. I'm random that way. Hope you have a great weekend! Are you going to DB? I have been reading all of their blog posts wishing I was there! xoxo

  5. Oh, those are lovely. And coming from another perfectionist - I think the slight things - like the off-center checks - give them charm and make each "one of a kind."
