Going Shopping

Meri and I went out junking last week and I found this beautiful brass lamp at goodwill….

The shade and the hurricane glass insert are perfect.  This is a good sized heavy lamp…it was marked 29.99.  A very nice woman behind us in the check out line gave us a 20% off coupon, so I got almost 6.00 off…..

These are the “before” photo….imagine it the color of the chandy in the first photo…..Wal-Mart here I come…..:)

I really want to take a moment and thank all of you who left comments yesterday….they meant so much!   As I said, today is going to be a better day….and so far so good….:):)

 

Today is my Birthday

 

Yup…today I am older, I turned 59 today.

This is a bittersweet day for me…my Mom was 59 when she passed away.  I think of my family and how it would be if  all of a sudden I just wasn’t there anymore, and it is devastating to think about  it, and to feel it every year….I miss my folks more, not less, as time goes on….wondering about all of the great memories we still had to make, the  second grandson they never met…they were the BEST grandparents to Bryan if only for a year.  I wonder what they would think of the person I have become, I hope they would be happy with her.

This is a photo of Mom and Dad just shortly before they were both gone…my Dad died 14 months after my Mom…he was just 60.

I wish I could say that today feels good…..it doesn’t…..and that is just how it is….tomorrow will be a better day. :) Thanks for letting me be honest, it means a lot…
